Dr. Chen Deah Chien, born in Singapore, was interested in being a medical missionary when she was growing up. As she was weak in Physics and Chemistry subjects, she studied accountancy instead and is an accountant and lawyer by training with over 25 years in the accounting, legal and banking professions. Dr. Chen is trained as well in nutrition and public health. She is an alumni of NUS, Boston, Harvard, Vanderbilt, Columbia, and Imperial College London, where she obtained her Ph.D. She was educated both at the Harvard School of Public Health and Columbia Mailman School of Public Health where she obtained the Master in Public Health from the latter. She was a Special student at Tufts University Friedman School of Nutrition where she is interested in food as medicine.
As Dr. Chen's interest was in medical missionary work, she has worked as a chaplain intern at Boston Medical Centre, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Centre, Hebrew Rehabilitation Centre for the Aged in Boston, where she has witnessed the fragility of life. She has also worked in the HIV/ AIDS Unit at The Red Cross, Geneva. Health is wealth. Without health, one cannot live to enjoy the fruits of labor - whether traveling around the world or just playing with children. Her mission in life is to educate people to eat healthily, so that they can prosper in body, soul and spirit. Over 20 years Dr. Chen has been a vegetarian. She loves all kinds of vegetables, fruits and nuts. She believes the human body heals itself when one eats the right food. With clean air, clean water, and the right food into the body, there is no reason why one cannot be healthy with regular exercises. It is natural that the company she founded is into food – whole food for nutrition.
Dr. Chen has lived in Singapore, England, United States, Canada, Hong Kong, Israel and Switzerland. Education is the best tool to enlighten oneself. To be healthy, one must choose the right food with the best nutrition. You are the product of what you eat and do.
